Stonehenge RockBand is the current name of a Florentine rock group already known as ‘Stonehenge‘. The new name was assumed in 2008 following the change that occurred with the departure of singer Valerio Monti in 2007. Troubled and painful decision that left some aftermath among the remaining members. That in fact forced the ‘Stonehenge’ (with this name they are still identified) to take a pause for reflection.
Overcoming the differences at own internal and developed the repertoire, the annual debut was held on May 1st 2008 at the CdP in Settignano. Other concerts followed, culminating with the three dates at the summer events of InFortezza and Festa Democratica at the Fortezza da Basso in Florence where the Band obtained a warm and deserved success with the public. It was renewed also during 2009 and 2010, in particular in the summer concerts held in The Summer Arena in Gavinana.
The band still performed in the following years in numerous concerts. They partecipated in charity evenings at the Teatro delle Arti in Lastra a Signa in 2016 and at the Forte Belvedere in Florence in 2018. Although more discontinuously, the band still continues its amateur activity but with unchanged passion and grit, always obtaining flattering appreciation. Why this name??
…Stonehenge was built as a dance arena for prehistoric “samba-style” raves, according to a study of the acoustics of the 5,000-year-old stone circle. Using cutting-edge technology, Rupert Till, an expert in acoustics and music technology at Huddersfield University in northern England, discovered that Stonehenge’s megaliths reflect sound perfectly, making the stone circle an ideal setting for listening to repetitive trance rhythms…

Discography
On these occasions some Live recordings were made. One of which was published in 2009 on CD entitled “Vintage Live Concert” and then made available in a different version and with new graphics, in the form of “liquid music”, on the Internet on online digital stores. The other published in 2010 with the title “Five Vintage Rock Songs“. These albums have the merit of highlighting the peculiarities of this band capable of releasing a ‘true’ vintage sound, to entertain and arouse emotions by involving people as they have always done since the beginning of their business.
A third release was added on June 2020, “For a Song“, an EP always published online and a fourth release “As We Are” is available on the major digital platforms from Christmas 2020. Finally in 2021 the fifth and last LP was added which saw the same musicians playing together for 13 years “Stars Tribute“. This is a compilation of songs already published with the addition of three tracks dating back to 2006 when the lead singer of the group was Valerio Monti.
Only Live
Finally in 2024 Only Live. The band’s latest album but at the same time the first with the new lineup in place since 2021 which sees the presence of the new bassist.
