THE COMMA_13 BAND
Comma 13 Band (Arcangioli, Zatini, Lemmi)

It was again on the initiative of Gualtiero Lemmi (drums, keyboards), assisted on this occasion by Alessandro Arcangioli (voice, drums), that the “Comma_13 Band” was formed in 1992. The decision to give life to a new group matures in the period in which the two meet for sporadic performances at private parties and to record some revisited songs and their own compositions, even “satirical”, made in the workplace. During a ‘live session’ in a private club near the railway (recurring reason!), there was a meeting with the bassist (‘MaxZatini) and the guitarist (Andrea Dreoni).

The Band’s Story

Two months later, on August 15th, the Band made its debut during a country party in the Tuscan countryside. Despite the favorable comments, the two ‘founders’ made several adjustments to the ‘sound’ of the group, including with the addition of two new musicians R. Mazzi (guitar and drums) and A. Mazzi (singer). A good amalgamation between the components was thus achieved and the formation was ductile and balanced both for the possibility of alternating R. Mazzi and G. Lemmi on the drums, allowing the latter to play the keyboards, and thanks also to the second voice of A. Mazzi, more “tamed”, which compensated and supported the beautiful and total instinct of A. Arcangioli. This made it possible to play various genres such as rock, blues, funky, fusion and folk songs.

ADE Concerts

For more than a year the Band played at the “ADE“, private club, with the following formation: A. Arcangioli and A. Mazzi (singers), A. Dreoni (guitar), R. Mazzi (guitar, drums) , Max Zatini (bass), G. Lemmi (drums, keyboards). The subsequent exit from the group of the Mazzi brothers led to the entry of Claudio ‘Body’ Russo (guitar, voice) and required a change of sound with a leaner and more rock structure which sanctioned the not definitive passage of G. Lemmi on drums.

Shortly after, in 1995, for personal reasons, the bassist was also released and replaced by Paolo Peruzzi, already present in the “Railroad’s Men” and “Empty Souls”. The concerts continued, mainly in the Florence area, in clubs, private parties and various events, including one at the ‘San Casciano Stadium‘. Then again regular guests at the “ADE” in Florence with the following formation: A. Arcangioli (voice), A. Dreoni (guitar), C. Russo (guitar, voice), P. Peruzzi (bass), G. Lemmi ( drums, vocals).

“ADE Concerts” Albums

ADE Concerts” is a Live CD and it collects recordings from that period testifying to the involvement that the group knew how to arouse among the listeners to whom it transmitted emotions and fun. Read the comments. For a long time it has not been published. Now from August 20, 2021 seven songs are available on digital platforms in an album called “ADE Concerts Excerpts (1994)” of which you will find a specific article. Anyone interested in this material in its full version can contact us by email.

The group still underwent changes with the release of guitarist A. Dreoni who was not replaced. For a few months the Band played in a Scandicci studio until, in 1997, Alessandro Arcangioli, co-founder of “Comma_13”, now devoid of energy for music, definitively abandoned the Band leaving it with only three elements, marking made the momentary end.
