The Stolen Apple

The “Stolen Apple” group was formed in September 2008 as a result of the dissolution of the Nest, whose assets there are numerous concerts from 1996 to 2008 and two albums: Drifting (Urtovox – Audioglobe, 2002) and Isn’t it? (Zahr Records / BlackCandy – Audioglobe, 2007) both received positively by critics. Originally known by the name BUZZ ON, they have then taken on the name of STOLEN APPLE. That was inspired by the story of Ernest Lossa, a Romany child killed by the Nazis as part of their program of extermination of non self-sufficient individuals. This story was narrated, among others, by Marco Paolini in his show “Ausmerzen”.

On October 17, 2009, the first official live engagement took place, as part of an event held in Sesto Fiorentino (Florence) under the patronage of the Municipality and the Ernesto de Martino Institute, in memory of Ivan Della Mea, with his own version of “Resistance and Freedom”, one of the last songs recorded by the singer who died in June of the same year.

Band’s Musicians

The line-up present in these albums includes 4 elements. Riccardo Dugini (vocals, guitar), Luca Petrarchi (vocals, guitar), Giovanni Chessa (former bass player who moved to drums) and Massimiliano Zatini (bass, keyboards, vocals).

Their free musical expression project started at the time, continues without any specific reference objective, experimenting in an absolutely instinctive way and focusing a lot on amalgam.

As result there is a gradual and unconscious return to a rather rough rock, with crepuscular, almost “dark” sounds and with English lyrics, where influences of various kinds are certainly recognizable, but which still favors absolute freedom of expression and meeting of individual inspirations. The group worked on defining further pieces in terms of writing texts, vocal insertions and possible use of electronic keyboards.

There are about 15 original compositions, the result of this work, of which 9 are proposed in this CD. The tracks are recorded live with only the overdub of the vocal parts.

In 2012, after numerous concerts including some evenings at C.d.P. from Settignano (Firenze), they release a new single with two songs, Strange Attitude and Country Polka, also distributed online which confirms their good musical vein.

Present on the main liquid music websites such as Apple Music, Spotify, iTunes, YouTube, Tidal and others, these songs have since been withdrawn. Anyone interested in this material can contact us via email.
