This Jazz recording is a Live from a concert held in Firenze on 1976 c/o SMS Andrea del Sarto by the Cedar Walton Quartet (or Billy Higgins Quartet). I do not remember well but since in the same year the Cedar Walton Quartet performed at the Umbria Jazz Festival in Perugia (Italy) with the same line-up and musicians, I believe that it also appeared that evening with the same name.
This album has not been published being a bootleg recording and came to us from a private collection.
The recording was done using a Philips cassette recorder with a good quality microphone staying on the audience side. Despite this and some problems caused by a speaker in the playback system, tape breakage and poor quality recording equipment, it is still very interesting both from an audio point of view (I’ve heard worse Bootleg reproductions) and from an artistic point of view for the great performances of George Coleman and Cedar Walton, in particular, but also for those of Sam Jones and Billy Higgins. The remastered and complete tracks of the concert are listed below. Initially two tracks had not been identified but recently Mr. Johannes P. from Wienn came to our aid and we thank him for helping us find the missing titles.
